Peacock Class: What a Wonderful Start!
What a special start to school life it has been for our wonderful Peacock Class children.
The first few weeks of Reception are such a huge milestone. For many of our children, this is their first experience of being away from home for longer periods, meeting new people, following new routines and finding their place in a busy classroom. We could not be more proud of how they have embraced it all.
We have watched the children arrive each morning perhaps feeling a little unsure, and then slowly grow in confidence as familiar smiles, friendships and routines have become part of their day. It has been truly heartwarming to see children who were once a little hesitant now coming through the door with smiles, ready to learn, play and explore.
Every day brings something new — a new friend made, a story shared, a challenge overcome, a new skill discovered or simply the confidence to have a go. These may seem like little moments, but they are such big achievements for our youngest learners.
We are especially proud of the kindness we are seeing develop within Peacock Class. The children are learning to look after one another, share, take turns, listen and offer a helping hand when someone needs it. They are beginning to understand that they are part of a very special little community, and it has been wonderful to watch that sense of belonging grow.
There have, of course, been a few wobbly moments along the way — and that is absolutely okay. Starting school is a big adventure, and we are so proud of the resilience our children are showing. Each day they are taking another little step towards becoming confident, independent and happy learners.
Here’s to all the friendships, discoveries, giggles, muddy hands, proud moments and wonderful memories still to come. We have a feeling it is going to be a very special year!
