Athlete Visit - Isla Ward

Athlete Visit

Isla Ward came to school this week and put the children through their paces with a variety of circuit exercises.  The children were suitably red faced after their slot with Isla!

Isla held an assembly and shared her achievements with the children.  She said she had started skiing on a family holiday around the age of three and then began racing on the dry ski slope in Glasgow when she was older.  Isla then transitioned to racing on slopes abroad in the English Championships.  She told the children her greatest achievement was winning the NJR (National Junior Race) in Bielmonte.

Inviting visitors like Isla into school, instils a sense of opportunity in an individual and encourages them to be the best they can be!  I am deeply passionate about investing time in our pupils so they can see that the world is truly their oyster and hearing a story like Isla's allows them to think, 'That could be me!"

With hard work and determination our children can and will reach for the stars!

Thank you to all families who sponsored their children - Isla and her team were very appreciative.
