Fonetti Trip to London
Over the summer, both Dordon and Wood End took part in the summer Read Aloud Challenge powered by Fonetti. We have been using Fonetti in school for a while for some children but this challenge was open to everyone. Dordon had excellent participation and as a result won a certificate for their efforts. As a result of this, 2 children were invited to the Read Aloud Challenge awards in London!
We travelled to London on the train and then had to catch the Tube to Amazon HQ in London for the awards. The children on the visit had never visited London so they were excited and also nervous as London is such a busy place.
At the awards, we had book readings from Craig McCann and Clare Balding CBE -brand ambassador for Fonetti. Clare was very engaging and asked pupils about their pets. Frankie from Wood End was very quick to talk about Turbo his goldfish and now Clare is eagerly awaiting his book!
The awards celebrated the winners from across the country and our Trust - the Community Academies Trust were awarded with a certificate for the number of schools who participated in the challenge.
Our children were amazing and a real credit to our schools. They embraced every moment although I am sure the Pick n Mix they got was possibly their highlight!!
