Open the Book

The Open the Book team visit Dordon every half term and present Bible stories in an accessible and enjoyable way for the children. Volunteers from St Leonard's Church, deliver excellent assemblies bringing costumes and props along with them to keep the children engaged. What I also enjoy about the assemblies is the fact that it promotes tolerance. We may not all have the same religious beliefs but we listen to the stories and understand that no matter our denomination we can respect other religions. At the end of each Bible story a prayer/thought is read out for the children to consider, which always teaches us how to be a good person.

The Open the Book team are very popular here at Dordon and the children really enjoy their visits. It is a great way to connect with our community!
